FAQs
Q: What is a parenting coach or consultant?
A parenting consultant is a parenting specialist who can give expert help and advice to help you with your child’s behaviour. It could be anything from your child not sleeping, tantrums, having problems getting a child to school, or anything you find difficult to deal with. The role of a parenting consultant is to identify how to address the issues and then coach/teach vital skills and techniques to change your child/children’s behaviour.
Q: Who is this Everkind Parenting for?
The Everkind Programme is for parents, caregivers and guardians who want to improve their communication, understanding, and relationship with their children, especially when facing challenges like behaviour, sleep, emotions, transitions, or developmental stages. It is for parents that want to learn new skills and strategies that will have long term results.
Q: What does the Everkind Programme involve?
Before we start working together, we need to explore and understand the issues you’re having with your child’s behaviour. I can arrange a 20-minute call, free of charge, to check if parenting coaching is right for you.
During this call, I’ll let you know if I’m confident we can get the issues sorted. If you’re happy to go ahead, I will then ask you to fill out a background form. This has a list of questions about lots of different aspects of your child/children’s lives and their behaviour.
Then, I will make a list of all the problems and issues, work out what parenting skills or strategies you need to get it sorted, and then teach you those strategies over a course of 6 weeks.
Q: Do you need to work with my child?
No, I don’t need to work directly with your child.
The most important thing is that you, the parents know how to deal with your child/children and learn skills and strategies to change their behaviour. I will ask you to complete a background form, to help me understand every issue you’re dealing with. So, I can create a programme tailored to your family and what skills you’ll need.
As we go through the sessions of the course, I will ask you questions to check how your child is behaving using the new strategies and we will discuss how they respond.
If for any reason you feel the strategies are not working, I may ask you to send me a recording of your child so I can analyse it and give you feedback and show you how to tweak the strategies so that they work well for your child.
Q: Why are the sessions delivered via Zoom?
I work with parents across the UK and around the world using Zoom.
It is by far the easiest and most convenient way of delivering the sessions. Doing the sessions online is a great way of overcoming travel costs and issues and allows busy working parents to both join the sessions.
If you work from home, or you work in an office, you may find it convenient to do the sessions over an extended lunch break.
Alternatively, you may prefer to do the sessions after your child/ children have gone to bed. However, 8pm is the latest time I will start a session, so you’re not too tired to learn new information.
